The makers of the DVD presentation “Still Images of Nature” were awarded the Intermedia Globe Gold and Grand Award –prices in 2003 at the German festival for Modern media. The World Media Festival (www.worldmediafestival.org) is the largest new media contest in Europe with 281 productions from 24 countries.

The awarded programme is a production of Smile Audiovisual Oy. It is directed and written for the screen by Mr. Seppo Palminen. The victorious presentation was made for promotional purposes for the region of Northeastern Finland. The striking beauty of the landscapes was eternalized in photographs, which were fashioned to express the philosophy of silence.

The presentation was ordered by Koillismaa Development center that works for development of Northeastern Finland. Northeastern Finland is presented at the World Wide Web (KuusamoRegion) as well as in the periodical print magazine Kuusamo Lapland Farnorth.
