This DVD-show is about building the Kollaja artificial lake and power station, and evaluating the impact on the environment, the implementation of the project, pros and cons, and the downriver of Iijoki which was built for power station usage.

River Iijoki is flooding heavily during the short spring term. At that time about one third of the annual water amount has to be run through flood hatches by the power station, because there is no room for flood water.

Great amount of the water could be stored to the artificial lake Kollaja and run when there is need for the electricity.

Kollaja is situated downriver of Iijoki between the power stations and the town of Pudasjärvi. Because of the water store the five stations of the downriver could be in more effective use. To carry out the project, the law concerning the protection of the rapids needs to be revised.
